Shari and Garen were named UCLA Alumni of the Year in 2018, then the only couple to ever receive this award out of 500,000 living alumni.
Shari and Garen received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2018 which recognizes descendants of immigrant families “who share their wealth of knowledge, indomitable courage, boundless compassion, unique talents and selfless generosity with those less fortunate.”
